Manual Toothbrushes vs. Electric Toothbrushes

Have you ever contemplated on whether to buy a manual toothbrush or a electrical toothbrush? I don't know about you, but whatever gets the job done works best for me. Manual toothbrushes are extremely cheaper than electrical toothbrushes that is why I stick to the basic. Researchers say it is how you brush your teeth that really matters. Electric toothbrushes are more popular because they are more fun for kids and young adults. Commercials make it look as though electric toothbrushes are the only toothbrushes that get the job done, which is false (Web Med). Always keep in mind how you brush your teeth. Do not brush too hard where your gums bleed, because you can also brush off the enamel, which does not grow back. It really all depends on how you brush your teeth. It is all opinion based on how you brush your teeth. Keep brushing my friends!

  1. I always wanted an electric toothbrush because i did feel as if they got the job done better but as I think about it, it does matter how you brush them like you stated. I did not know that your teeth enamel did not grow back that is interesting. I never got an electric toothbrush due to the price and i rather spend my money on something else and continue to get the job done with a good ole' regualar toothbrush! Thanks for the information

  2. I hate electric toothbrushes. My kids have to have them and I always have to go back over their teeth! I feel that the manual one would be more effective because you are in control of what you are brushing.

  3. I use a manual tooth brush, but I use to always want a electronic toothbrush. I witnessed a family member who used a electronic toothbrush and went to the dentist because they had so much buildup in their teeth. AN electronic tooth brush does not get everything. you have to put effort in with the tooth brush and make sure you are flossing. SO I just stay with my manual tooth brush and floss saves me a lot of money instead of going to a dentist.

  4. I always use a manual because they're cheaper but I didn't know that they actually work better. That is very interesting and I'm glad I know that now.

  5. I don't believe I ever thought electric toothbrushes were better than manual toothbrushes. I always believe if you brush your teeth right than whatever works. I can use either or toothbrush but now I like electric toothbrushes better because I feel it reach in the places I cannot get to with a manual toothbrush.

  6. I always wanted an electric toothbrush because it seemed fun to have, I believe manual toothbrushes are better because you can control the amount of pressure you use and you can get the hard to reach areas.

  7. I thought that electronic toothbrushes worked better! This is probably because the commercials want us to believe that since they're expensive, they're better! Thanks for the information!

  8. I've always thought that electronic toothbrush works better because it gets the butter and left over food from out the teeth. I really never used a regular toothbrush while growing up. I just really love electronic tooth brushes.

  9. Allison, I'm curious to know whether or not your research indicated whether or not a manual toothbrush or an electric was more effective? I have tried many different toothbrushes, and have tried to find what one works best for me, and so far I haven't really found a difference in any. Good post, very informative.

  10. It's good to know that it's more how you brush your teeth than what you use to do it. It's a good money saver knowing that as long as you brush your teeth the right way, you don't have to waste your money on an electronic toothbrush! I also didn't know that enamel can't grow back, thanks for sharing that.

  11. As a kid it was always fun to have an electric toothbrush but I have realized that a normal one does the job too. You just have to take the time to actually brush your teeth correctly and often enough to see the real results.
